What to Do Before You Arrive

Taking the right steps immediately can make a big difference. Here are a few quick tips for common emergencies.

For a Knocked-Out Tooth: Gently rinse the tooth with water, being careful not to touch the root. If you can, try to place it back in the socket. If not, store it in a small container of milk and call us immediately. Time is critical.

For a Severe Toothache: Rinse your mouth with warm salt water to clean the area. You can use a cold compress on the outside of your cheek to help with swelling. Do not place aspirin directly on the tooth or gums.
For a Chipped or Broken Tooth: Rinse your mouth with warm water and save any pieces of the tooth you can find. Apply a cold compress to the area to minimize swelling and call our office for guidance.

Q: What if I call after hours? A: If you are experiencing a dental emergency after our regular office hours, please call anyway and leave your full name, number, and details about your emergency and we will get back to the very next day.

Q: I’m really anxious about this. Can you help? A: Absolutely. Your comfort is our priority. Please let us know how you’re feeling. We offer options like nitrous oxide (“laughing gas”) to help ease anxiety, and our caring, judgment-free team will be with you every step of the way.
